Social Media: Legal and Ethical Issues (1 hr CE)
If you work with younger clients, they've probably already tried to "like," "follow," or otherwise connect with you through social media. In this course about the legal and ethical issues surrounding social media usage for mental health professionals, we discuss some of the dangers surrounding confidentiality and dual relationships related to social media. But we also discuss some of the reasons why therapists argue that they can maintain a professional relationship while still making use of social media with clients, and how it can even become a useful part of the therapy.
