Social Media: Legal and Ethical Issues (1 hr CE)
This is a course about the ethics of social media usage for mental health professionals.
1. By the end of this course, participants will be able to identify at least two risks to clients when social media boundaries are unclear.
2. As a result of this course, the participant will be able to identify at least two risks to therapists when social media boundaries are unclear.
3. As a result of this course, the participant will be able to integrate legal and ethical social media practices into their therapy work.
Benjamin E. Caldwell, PsyD is the author of Basics of California Law for LMFTs, LPCCs, and LCSWs. He has spent approximately 10 years as Chair of the Legislative and Advocacy Committee for AAMFT's California Division. Dr. Caldwell serves as adjunct faculty for California State University Northridge and the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA.
